WHO WE ARE

We’re not for everyone — and that’s the point. If you’re looking for unfettered honesty over corporate niceties, you’re in the right place.

OUR CORE VALUES
Downtown Phoenix Adams Street city background

Our origin story

Co-founders Ava and Carly first crossed paths as journalism students in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona. They came from different places but clicked instantly, drawn together by a shared love of straight talk and challenging the status quo. A friendship that began on Taylor Street grew into a partnership built on hustle and heart.

That desert-grown grit is the foundation of our work today. At Taylor Street Communications, we help organizations lead change with purpose — always focused on where they’re going, and never forgetting where they came from.

MEET THE TEAM

Our co-founders

We’ve been in the rooms where change goes sideways. And we built this business to do it better.

  • Ava Hawkins, co-founder Taylor Street Communications

    Ava Hawkins

Ava knows real change doesn’t just happen. It’s built, one clear message and one committed team at a time. For over 10 years, she’s helped organizations across oil and gas, tech, retail and beyond navigate the messy but necessary work of transformation. She brings a rare mix to the table: deep technical expertise in change management, and the kind of people skills that make her both a trusted advisor and a steady presence in the room. Grounded in proven methodology and driven by relationships, her work is all about creating momentum that lasts. At Taylor Street, Ava helps leaders and individual contributors make sense of change — and make it stick. Connect with her on LinkedIn.

  • Carly Hanson, co-founder Taylor Street Communications

    Carly Hanson

Carly is a seasoned writer and top-notch communicator with over a decade of experience helping people say what matters, and say it well. With a substantial background in marketing, she’s seen many companies struggle to speak to their most important audience: their people. Rooted in journalism and shaped by creative work across industries, she helps teams understand complex topics and find common ground. Known for her sharp eye, steady voice and deep empathy, Carly brings clarity to the complex and heart to the hard stuff. At Taylor Street, she helps organizations find the words — and the courage — to lead with purpose. Connect with her on LinkedIn.

What our clients say

  • "We recently rolled out a new tax service, Copperline Tax, to our existing clients. We needed clear, client-focused messaging around a fairly complex change. Carly and Ava asked the right questions and developed a well-structured messaging that we think will resonate with our clients. The overall experience working with Taylor Street Communications was excellent."

    Adam Cary, Cary Millar

  • "Carly and Ava were great to work with as we launched a new affiliate this year. Change is always a risk, but with the right planning and communication, we are able to move forward with confidence. They collaborated well with different members of our team, and produced very effective, high-quality communication tools. I definitely recommend them as a great resource for any organization that is going through important changes."

Our core values

  • Rooted in Real

Authenticity is everything — in our voice, our work and how we show up for clients. We stand out from the crowd by saying what others won’t with respect and compassion.

  • Bold, Not Reckless

We're not afraid to take the mic, but we only speak with purpose. We take thoughtful risks that push boundaries and drive positive change.

  • Human at Heart

No project is more important than the people behind it. We lead with empathy and listen to understand, not to respond.

  • Invigorated by Change

Change is a launchpad, not a roadblock. We transform change into momentum with strategy, heart and clear communication.

  • Embracing the Unknown

We don’t fear the unknown. We chase it. Because the only thing better than being right is learning why we’re wrong.
